Kupola (“Kupola,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) retains and deletes account and feature-related data as described in this Data Retention & Deletion Policy. This page explains how long data is kept, what happens after an account deletion request is submitted, and when data is permanently removed from our systems.
1. Scope
This Data Retention & Deletion Policy applies to data processed through the Kupola website, the Kupola parent experience, the Kupola Jr. child experience, and related support services.
2. How Long We Keep Data
Parent and Child Profile Data
Parent account data and child profile data are retained for as long as the account remains active.
Feature Data
Feature-related data is retained for 30 days. This includes data generated through Kupola features, such as activity records, alerts, event history, and related feature operations.
Depending on the features enabled, this may include:
- location-related feature records;
- geofence, check-in, checkout, and no-show related events;
- SOS-related records;
- low-battery alerts;
- app and website control events;
- screen time, daily limit, and schedule-related activity;
- app and phone usage reporting data;
- installed app review actions;
- task and challenge-related activity.
Support, Billing, and Legal Data
Support, billing, or legal data linked to a parent profile remains accessible only for as long as the account exists.
3. Account Deletion Requests
Users can request account deletion through the app.
After a deletion request is submitted:
- a 7-day grace period begins;
- the user may continue to access the account during that period;
- the user may cancel the deletion request before deletion is completed.
If the deletion request is not canceled, the account and linked data are permanently deleted on the 7th day.
4. Service Behavior During the Grace Period
During the 7-day grace period, the Service continues to function normally.
However, if a parent logs out of the account during the grace period, the parent will not be able to sign in again without contacting support for account recovery assistance.
5. Backup Copies
Kupola maintains internal backups for up to 7 days for internal operational purposes.
These backups are not offered to users as an account recovery service. Once an account has been deleted, it is treated as permanently deleted and cannot be restored for customer use.
6. What Happens After Deletion
Once account deletion is completed:
- the parent account is deleted;
- linked child profile data is deleted;
- linked feature data is deleted;
- support, billing, and legal data stored by Kupola in connection with that account is deleted.
Kupola does not retain account data after deletion.
However, payment processors or platform providers may retain certain transaction or payment-related records under their own legal, regulatory, or operational requirements. Any such retention is governed by their own policies, not this Policy.
7. Canceling a Deletion Request
A deletion request may be canceled during the 7-day grace period. If the request is canceled before deletion is completed, the account remains active and the Service continues normally.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Data Retention & Deletion Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, practices, or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
