6. Feature-Specific Uses of Information

To help explain our practices, the following examples show how specific Kupola features may use information.

SOS

If SOS or a related emergency workflow is enabled or triggered, we may process account, device, location, timestamp, and event information needed to generate alerts, display incident details, support follow-up, and maintain related feature records.

Kid Tracker and Live Location

If live location is enabled, we may process current and recent location information, timestamps, and related device identifiers so the parent can view child-device location in the Service.

Location History

If location history is enabled, we may process and display past location events and related timestamps within the Service.

Places / Geofence

If a parent creates places or geofences, we may process configured place information and child-device location events to provide check-in, checkout, arrival, and departure alerts.

No-Show Alerts

If no-show alerts are enabled, we may process expected event information together with device and location signals to determine whether an expected arrival or presence event may not have occurred.

Attention Mode and Phone Lock

If attention mode, pause, or phone lock-related features are enabled, we may process device state, schedules, enforcement settings, and related action logs to apply and record those controls, subject to platform limitations.

Internet Filters, SafeSearch, Website Blocker, and App Blocker

If online safety features are enabled, we may process app, website, category, policy, and enforcement-related information needed to apply parental controls and report blocked or restricted activity.

Daily Limits and Screen Time Schedules

If daily limits or schedules are enabled, we may process activity totals, usage events, configured rules, and enforcement logs to apply and report on those limits or schedules.

Low-Battery Alerts

If low-battery alerts are enabled, we may process battery status and related event information to notify the parent when a child device reaches a relevant battery state.

App and Phone Usage Reports

If reporting features are enabled, we may process app usage, phone usage, activity totals, screen time information, and related technical data to generate summaries and reports.

Installed App List and Approve / Reject Options

If supported and enabled, we may process installed app information and parent decisions regarding app approval, rejection, or review.

Tasks and Brain Challenges

If tasks or challenges are used, we may process task details, completion status, timestamps, and related family workflow information.

7. Children’s Privacy and Parental Agreement

Kupola is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian. We do not permit a child to independently create a parent account.

During setup, we provide notice about the categories of information collected and the reasons they are used. We request parent agreement before enabling child-related setup and use of the Service.

Where required by applicable law, we rely on parental authorization or parental consent before collecting or processing a child’s personal information in connection with the Service.

A parent or legal guardian may, subject to applicable law and verification:

  • review the child information associated with the family account;
  • request correction of certain information;
  • request deletion of account-linked information;
  • disconnect a child profile or device;
  • change settings, permissions, and enabled features.

We may request information needed to verify that the requester is the parent or legal guardian of the child.

8. How We Share Information

We do not sell children’s personal information.

We may share personal information in the following circumstances:

A. Within the family account experience

Information from a child profile or child device may be made available to the authorized parent or guardian account holder associated with the family account, depending on the Service configuration.

B. Service providers

We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the Service, such as providers supporting:

  • hosting and cloud infrastructure;
  • authentication and account security;
  • customer support;
  • notification delivery;
  • fraud prevention, monitoring, and security;
  • billing or subscription administration, if applicable;
  • website analytics, advertising measurement, campaign attribution, and related reporting, including Google services where applicable.

For example, push notifications may be delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android and Apple Push Notification service on iOS.

These providers may access information only as reasonably necessary to provide services on our behalf.

C. Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law or legal process;
  • enforce our terms, policies, or rights;
  • investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues;
  • protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Kupola, or others.

D. Corporate transactions

We may disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information as follows:

Parent and child profile data

Parent account data and child profile data are retained for as long as the account remains active and until an account deletion request is submitted.

Feature data

Feature-related data is retained for 30 days. This includes activity and event records generated through Kupola features, such as:

  • location-related feature records;
  • geofence, check-in, checkout, and no-show events;
  • SOS-related records;
  • low-battery alerts;
  • app and website control events;
  • screen time, daily limit, and schedule-related activity;
  • app and phone usage reporting data;
  • installed app review actions;
  • task and challenge activity.

Support, billing, and account-related records

Support, billing, and account-related records stored by Kupola are retained only while the account remains active.

Internal backups

Kupola maintains internal backups for up to 7 days for internal operational purposes. These backups are not offered as a customer recovery service.

10. Account Deletion

Users may request account deletion through the app.

After a deletion request is submitted:

  • a 7-day grace period begins;
  • the user may continue to access the account during that period;
  • the user may cancel the deletion request before deletion is completed.

If the deletion request is not canceled, the account and linked data are permanently deleted on the 7th day.

During the grace period, the Service continues to function normally.

However, if a parent logs out during the grace period, the parent will not be able to sign in again and will need to contact support for account recovery assistance before deletion is completed.

Once deletion is completed, the account cannot be restored for customer use.

Kupola does not retain account-linked data after deletion is completed.

However, payment processors or platform providers may retain certain transaction or payment-related records under their own legal, regulatory, or operational requirements. Any such retention is governed by their own policies.

11. Security

We use technical, administrative, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

These measures may include access controls, authentication safeguards, encryption in transit, internal logging, monitoring, and service-provider controls.

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our website and related web services may use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • essential site functionality;
  • authentication and session management;
  • security and fraud prevention;
  • preferences and settings;
  • communication support and troubleshooting;
  • analytics, advertising measurement, conversion tracking, and campaign attribution.
